Taxonomy
Fungiastraea subtilis was named by Eliasova and Roniewicz (1990). Its type locality is Pavlovske Vrchy (Pavlov Hills), Mikulov area, Ernstbrunn Limestone, Moravia, which is in a Tithonian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Ernstbrunn Formation of the Czech Republic.
