Disphyllum eurekaensis was named by Merriam (1974). Its type specimen is USNM 159319 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Exilifrons eurekaensis by Pedder (1977); it was recombined as Cyathophyllum eurekaense by Pedder (1998) and Pedder (2004).

C. W. Merriam 1974 | This Disphyllum has corallites of large diameter and multiple columns of predominantly small dissepiments. The tabulae are mostly wide and fairly straight; some specimens are complete and some have peripheral tabellae and a tendency for peripheral depression of tabulae. The septa are slightly thickened in the dissepimentarium; some have weak zigzag carinae. |
