Three rods crossing at a point to form the six-rayed spicule, with radially arranged first-order spinules on each ray intermeshing to form the spherical shell. Radial second order spinules on each first-order spinule, densely distributed thorns on first-order spinules and on all rays excepting in the proximal region of the rays.|
