M.-Z. Won and W. J. Iams 2002A spherical skeleton constructed on a six-rayed, point-centered spicule. Three rods crossing at a point to form the six-rayed spicule, with radially arranged first-order spinules on each ray intermeshing to form the spherical shell. Radial second order spinules on each first-order spinule, densely distributed thorns on first-order spinules and on all rays excepting in the proximal region of the rays.
