Taxonomy
Yingshanosaurus was named by Zhou (1986) [nomen nudum]. Its type is Yingshanosaurus jichuanensis.

It was assigned to Stegosaurinae by Zhou (1986) and Zhu (1994); to Kentrosaurinae by Ulansky (2014); and to Stegosauridae by Ulansky (2015).
