Labradorocoleus was named by Ponomarenko (1969). It is not extant. Its type is Labradorocoleus carpenteri. It is the type genus of Labradorocoleidae.

It was assigned to Labradorocoleidae by Ponomarenko (1969), Carpenter (1992) and Kirejtshuk (2020).
