Taxonomy
Jacksonaster torrei was named by Lambert (1926). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loma de Callisto, Nuevitas, which is in an Oligocene marine horizon in Cuba. It is the type species of Cubanaster.
It was recombined as Cubanaster torrei by Durham (1954).
