Discoidea haldermani was named by Conrad (1850). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Oligopygus haldermani by Clark and Twitchell (1915) and Sanchez Roig (1926); it was recombined as Oligopygus haldemani by Cooke (1942).
