Taxonomy
Fistulipora bassleri was named by Loeblich (1942). Its type specimen is USNM 114582 and USNM 114583 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Lunaferamita.

It was recombined as Lunaferamita bassleri by Utgaard (1981).
