Taxonomy
Lunaferamita virginiensis was named by Utgaard (1981). Its type specimen is USNM 159771 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Marcem Quarry, 2 miles west of Gate City, which is in a Chazyan/Ashbyan carbonate limestone in the Marcem Formation of Virginia.
