Taxonomy
Patagiosites was named by Spath (1953) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-u K Maes-l Sepkoski's reference number: 971]. Its type is Ammonites patagiosus.

It was assigned to Desmoceratinae by Jones (1963); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pachydiscidae by Morozumi (1985), Wright et al. (1996) and Niebuhr et al. (2016).
