Taxonomy
Felixastraea mexicana was named by Reyeros-Navarro (1963). Its type locality is San Juan Raya, San Juan Raya Formation, Puebla, which is in an Aptian open shallow subtidal mixed carbonate-siliciclastic in the San Juan Raya Formation of Mexico.

It was recombined as Loboseris mexicana by Baron-Szabo (2009).
