Taxonomy
Recticostastraea wallowaensis was named by Stanley, jr and Whalen (1989). Its type locality is Spring Creek, Hells Canyon, which is in a Lacian perireef or subreef limestone in the Martin Bridge Limestone Formation of Oregon. It is the type species of Recticostastraea.
