Phlyseogrammoceras was named by Buckman (1901) [Sepkoski's age data: J Toar-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302 Sepkoski's age data: J Toar-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ammonoidea by Ohmert et al. (1996); and to Grammoceratinae by Howarth (2013) and Novack-Gottshall (2022).

Synonyms
  • Gruneria was named by Gabilly (1974).

    It was synonymized subjectively with Phlyseogrammoceras by Howarth (2013).
