Onchopristis dunklei was named by McNulty and Slaughter (1962).

Sister species lacking formal opinion data

Synonyms
  • Sechmetia cruciformis was named by Werner (1989). Its type specimen is University of Montpellier ACA 10, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Alcaine, which is in a Barremian carbonate limestone in Spain.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Onchopristis dunklei by Kriwet (1999).
