Taxonomy
Lucina sulcata was named by Lamarck (1806) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Eocene; western Europe.]. It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Cavilucina.

It was recombined as Miltha (Cavilucina) sulcata by Glibert (1933); it was recombined as Cavilucina sulcata by Cox et al. (1969); it was recombined as Cavilucina (Cavilucina) sulcata by Glibert (1985).
