Taxonomy
Tellina ampliata was named by Philipps (1829). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Perampliata.

It was recombined as Ampliata amplicata by Arkell (1934); it was recombined as Perampliata amplicata by Cox et al. (1969).
