Taxonomy
Rhombopterygia rajoides was named by Cappetta (1980). Its type specimen is MNHN 1961-29-195 A & B and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hadjoula (MNHN collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Sannine Limestone Formation of Lebanon.
