Paryphoceras was named by Spath (1928) [Sepkoski's age data: J Oxfo-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Paryphoceras badiense.
It was assigned to Mayaitidae by Spath (1928) and Arkell et al. (1957); and to Mayaitinae by Alberti et al. (2015).
