Taxonomy
Pilekiidae was named by Sdzuy (1955). It is not extant.
It was considered an invalid subgroup of Cheiruridae by Adrain (2011); it was reranked as the subfamily Pilekiinae by Edgecombe et al. (1999) and Perez-Peris et al. (2021).
It was assigned to Phacopida by Whittington et al. (1997) and Fortey and Bruton (2013); and to Cheiruridae by Edgecombe et al. (1999) and Perez-Peris et al. (2021).
