Polyphylloseris microkothos was named by Baron-Szabo (2008). Its type locality is Jerusalem Mountain Inlier, Parish of Hanover [Titanosarcolites Lmst], which is in a Maastrichtian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Titanosarcolites Limestone Formation of Jamaica.
