Carinopyge was named by Maksimova (1955). It is not extant. Its type is Carinopyge fracta.
It was assigned to Pterygometopidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Monorakinae by Ludvigsen and Chatterton (1982) and Holloway (2004).
