Taxonomy
Arizona voorhiesi was named by Parmley and Holman (1995). Its type specimen is UNSM 96432, a set of vertebrae (trunk vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lemoyne Quarry, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in the Ash Hollow Formation of Nebraska.
