Taxonomy
Ostrea antiguensis was named by Brown (1913) [DISTRIBUTION: ?Oligocene or Early Miocene; Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 1653, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pycnodonte (Crenostrea) antiguensis by Woodring (1982); it was recombined as Pycnodonte antiguensis by Perrilliat (1994).
