Taxonomy
Jamilcotatus kumiaica was named by Aranda-Manteca and Barnes (1998). Its type specimen is no number listed, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Mision, which is in a Langhian offshore shelf sandstone in the Rosarito Beach Formation of Mexico.
