Jamilcotatus boreios
Taxonomy
Jamilcotatus boreios was named by Aranda-Manteca and Barnes (1998). Its type specimen is no number listed, a partial skull (partial braincase and two vertebrae), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Santa Cruz Island, Monterey Formation, which is in a Serravallian marine shale in the Monterey Formation of California. It is the type species of Jamilcotatus.
