Taxonomy
Archohelia weaveri was named by Durham (1942). Its type locality is Woodmans Wharf, which is in a Priabonian marine conglomerate in the Quimper Formation of Washington.

It was recombined as Petrophyllia weaveri by Kiessling (2008).
