Velates vizcainoensis

Taxonomy
Velates vizcainoensis was named by Cushing Woods and Saul (1986). Its type specimen is UCLA 59421, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP loc. 27083, east of Bahía Sebastian Vizcaino, which is in a Paleocene marine sandstone/conglomerate in the Sepultura Formation of Mexico.
