Rasenia was named by Salfeld (1913) [Sepkoski's age data: J Kimm-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Ammonites cymodoce.

It was assigned to Perisphinctidae by Salfeld (1913); and to Aulacostephaninae by Mesezhnikov (1984).
