Taxonomy
Salaziceras was named by Breistroffer (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-u]. Its type is Ammonites salazacensis. It is the type genus of Salaziceratinae.
It was assigned to Flickiidae by Wright and Kennedy (1979); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Salaziceratinae by Kennedy and Wright (1984), Klinger and Kennedy (1994), Szives (2007) and Kennedy and Klinger (2008).
