Argoides redfieldii

Taxonomy
Ornithoidichnites redfieldii was named by Hitchcock (1844). It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Chicopee Falls tracksite, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian lacustrine - small shale/sandstone in the Portland Formation of Massachusetts.

It was recombined as Argoides redfieldianus by Hitchcock (1845) and Lull (1904); it was recombined as Argozoum redfieldianum by Hitchcock (1848), Hitchcock (1858), Hitchcock (1871), Hitchcock (1889) and Hitchcock (1898); it was recombined as Argozoum redfieldi by Zittel (1890); it was recombined as Argoides redfieldii by Lull (1917) and Haubold (1971).
