Astrea lepida was named by Reuss (1854). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Phyllocoenia lepida by Felix (1903); it was recombined as Orbicella lepida by Milovanovic (1939); it was recombined as Neocoeniopsis lepida by Beauvais (1982); it was recombined as Neocoenia lepida by Turnsek and Polsak (1978) and Baron-Szabo (1997).
