Stegomus arcuatus
Taxonomy
Stegomus arcuatus was named by Marsh (1896). Its type specimen is YPM 1647, a set of postcrania (natural cast of dorsal carapace), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Freeman Clark Quarry, Fair Haven, which is in an Alaunian terrestrial sandstone in the New Haven Formation of Connecticut. It is the type species of Stegomus.
It was recombined as Aetosaurus arcuatus by Lucas et al. (1998), Heckert and Lucas (1999) and Heckert and Lucas (2000).
