Taxonomy
Angustiochrea lata was named by Val'kov and Sysoev (1970). It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Angustiochrea.
It was recombined as Anabarites latus by Kouchinsky et al. (2009).

A. Kouchinsky et al. 2009 | Anabarites species having rapidly expanding internal moulds with three rounded lobes separated by deep grooves (Fig. 2B–C).
DESCRIPTION. Internal moulds, rapidly expanding and irregularly curved. Deep grooves separate three longitudinal lobes. Variability: the grooves may be narrower (see Figs 15A–C; 16H–J&17A–C,G–L) orwider (see Figs 16A– G&17D–F), depending on the expansion and extension rates of the lobes. Initial portions of the moulds have a circular transverse profile, which changes rapidly during ontogeny (Fig. 15). Growth lines produce obtuse angles angled in the grooves towards the aperture (Fig. 16B). |
