Puppigerus crassicostata
Taxonomy
Chelone crassicostata was named by Owen (1849). Its type specimen is PV R 912 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Stone Ridge, near the Harwich harbour, which is in a Ypresian marine siliciclastic in the London Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Puppigerus crassicostatus by Cope (1870); it was recombined as Lytoloma crassicostatum by Lydekker (1889); it was recombined as Puppigerus crassicostata by Tong et al. (2012).
