Prosalirus bitis

Taxonomy
Prosalirus bitis was named by Shubin and Jenkins (1995). Its type specimen is MNA V 8725, a partial skeleton (associated cranial and postcranial remains of at least two individuals), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gold Spring Quarry 1 (MNA, MCZ, TMM 45609), which is in a Sinemurian/Pliensbachian floodplain claystone in the Kayenta Formation of Arizona. It is the type species of Prosalirus.
