Taxonomy
Schizobrissus kewi was named by Durham (1961). Its type specimen is USNM 563463, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 20001 - ridge between Candelaria and Río Ciruelas, which is in a Miocene/Miocene offshore siliciclastic in Costa Rica.
