Taxonomy
Pterodactylus cirinensis was named by Meyer (1860). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerin [PROXY], which is in a Kimmeridgian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in France.

It was corrected as Pterodactylus cerinensis by Lortet (1892).
