Cypraea pediculus was named by Linnaeus (1758) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Trivia pedicula by Woodring et al. (1924); it was recombined as Trivia pediculus by Weisbord (1962); it was recombined as Niveria pediculus by Cernohorsky (1971); it was recombined as Pusula pediculus by Hendy et al. (2008) and Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
