Taxonomy
Natica plicatella was named by Conrad (1863). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Naticarius canrena by Hendy et al. (2008); it was recombined as Naticarius plicatella by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
