Taxonomy
Apodops pricei was named by Estes and Wake (1972). Its type specimen is DGM 551, a set of vertebrae (trunk vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Companhia National de Cimento Portland Quarry, which is in a Paleocene/Eocene fissure fill limestone in Brazil.
