It was assigned to Criorhynchidae by Wellnhofer (1987); to Anhangueridae by Kellner and Tomida (2000); to Ornithocheiroidea by Andres et al. (2014); to Anhangueridae by Headden and Campos (2014) and Vila Nova et al. (2014); and to Tropeognathinae by Holgado and Pegas (2020).
