Anhanguera robustus
Taxonomy
Tropeognathus robustus was named by Wellnhofer (1987). Its type specimen is BSP 1987 I 47, a mandible (Lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chapada do Araripe [Romualdo Fm.] (general), which is in an Aptian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal shale in the Romualdo Formation of Brazil.
It was recombined as Anhanguera robustus by Kellner and Tomida (2000) and Rodrigues and Kellner (2008); it was recombined as Coloborhynchus robustus by Veldmeijer (1998), Fastnacht (2001), Unwin (2002), Unwin (2003), Veldmeijer et al. (2006) and Martill and Unwin (2011).
