Taxonomy
Holcotrochus scriptus was named by Dennant (1902). It is extant. Its type locality is Clifton Bank, Muddy Creek (Dennant collection), which is in a Langhian marine marl in the Port Campbell Limestone Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Holcotrochus.
