It was assigned to Leuthardtiaceae by Doweld (2000).

Synonyms

Glossophyllum was named by Kraeusel (1943). It is not extant. Its type is Glossophyllum florini. It was considered monophyletic by Doweld (2000).

It was replaced with Arberophyllum by Doweld (2000).

It was assigned to Ginkgophyta by Andrews (1970); to Peltaspermaceae by Meyen (1984); and to Glossophyllaceae by Dobruskina (1995).
