Taxonomy
Agnocardia spinosifrons was named by Vokes (1984). Its type specimen is USNM 377405, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 1177 - Mule Pen Quarry [Pinecrest Fm], which is in a Pliocene coastal sandstone in the Tamiami Formation of Florida.
