Taxonomy
Barbatia inglisia was named by Richards and Palmer (1953). Its type specimen is FGS I-7550, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is FGS L-93 - Gulf Hammock [Inglis Limestone], which is in a Priabonian marine limestone in the Inglis Limestone Formation of Florida.
