Brachidontes alabamiensis

Taxonomy
Modiola alabamiensis was named by Aldrich (1895). Its type specimen is USNM 638959, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Modiolus (Brachydontes) alabamiensis by Barry (1942); it was recombined as Volsella alabamiensis by Shimer and Shrock (1944); it was recombined as Musculus alabamiensis by Gardner (1945); it was recombined as Brachidontes alabamiensis by Palmer and Brann (1965).
