Taxonomy
Tellina papyria was named by Conrad (1833). Its type specimen is ANSP 30528, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Tellina (Peronidia) papyria by Dall (1900); it was recombined as Tellina (Eurytellina) papyria by Palmer and Brann (1965) and Kiessling (2003).
