Trajana pyta
Taxonomy
Trajana pyta was named by Gardner (1948). Its type specimen is USNM 497151, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 376 - Natural Well [Duplin Fm], which is in a Pliocene coastal sandstone in the Duplin Formation of North Carolina.
It was recombined as Trajana (Trajana) pyta by Vokes (1969).
